Opening the event, Director of SHRSC., PhD Y.H. after greeting the guests and event paricipantsgave the word to PhD Akif Mammadli, the senior scientific worker of the department of “Historical heritage and ethnography” of SHRSC.

  1. Mammadli noted in his broad report that Albanians held Christian beliefs even before Armenian and Georgians, and had more than 100 churches of early Christian era in the north-western region of Azerbaijan and emphasized the Albanian temple located in the Kish village of Sheki city as a vivid example of this. A.Mammadli: "... these monuments are our national passport, a sign of national identity, it is important to learn and propagate them to develop tourism”

It should be noted that one chapter of A.Mammadli's scientific monograph "Historical monuments of north-western Azerbaijan" was devoted to studying Albanian monuments.

At the end of the speech, Mammadli thought it an obligation to draw attention to the fact that the western and northern neighbors of the region have published their false and invalid works on our Albanian temples.

For this reason, he suggested the publication of works based on consistent scientific evidence and awareness raising activities among the population, as well as the organization of tourist routes to the monuments as a way out of the situation.

The event was attended by teachers of Shaki branch of ADPU H. Manafli, Ph.D., Vusal Bakhishov and students of the University.
